Local Fleet to Be Equipped with Mobile Phones
At the end of the third quarter, the equipping of aircraft of CJSC Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) with on-board equipment of mobile services will start.
The first laced package of Internet services will be available to aircraft passengers in late September - said at today's event at the celebration of the Olympic champions from Azerbaijan the Azerfon CEO Juergen Pitts.
The corresponding agreement was signed between the local mobile operator (brand NarMobile) and the company OnAir. According to the agreement, communication can not be used only for take-off of aircraft and landing. The package includes telephone calls, Internet, exchange SMS.
According to Pitz, this is the first such agreement in the CIS. Two other local mobile operators also take the opportunity to provide services to their subscribers with the appropriate roaming agreement with Azerfon.
As always, the "test bed" for new generation services will serve aircraft of Boeing, including two Boeing-787 Dreamliners, the acquisition of which is scheduled for next year. -17D-
