Moratorium on fishing in Azerbaijan comes into force from today
Baku/01.05.23/Turan: Starting today, May 1, a moratorium on fishing came into force in all reservoirs of Azerbaijan due to the spawning period of fish. According to the head of the Biological Diversity Protection Service (BDPS) Firuddin Aliyev, the moratorium will last until September 1.
In order to prevent illegal fishing, the Water Transport Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, SOBR and the State Environmental Security Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources carry out regular control activities in the country's inland waters, and take legal measures against those who engage in illegal fishing.
BDPS calls on individuals and legal entities engaged in fishing to comply with the rules, refrain from fishing at prohibited times and with prohibited tools. ---08B---
