More than Half of Tourists Prefer Five-Star Hotels
Baku // 06.10.17Turan: Of the 602,300 tourists in Azerbaijan, more than half (about 316,000 people) have preferred five-star hotels, according to a report by the State Statistics Committee for the first half of 2017.
In 5-type hotels, there were mainly foreign tourists - 197.1 thousand people, who spent 302.2 thousand overnights in them. 95.2 thousand foreign citizens stayed in four-star hotels.
According to the SCS, 5-star hotels gained 99.6 million out of 136.6 million revenues of all hotels in the first half of the year. They paid 17 million 363 thousand manat (including VAT) to the state budget. This amounts to 80.3% of all tax payments for hotels in Azerbaijan in January-June 2017. ---08B
