Only 53.4 % of subscribers are provided with water meters
Unlike public procurers of electricity and natural gas, the state monopoly on the supply of water in Azerbaijan in 20 years failed to provide consumers with water measuring devices.
As of October 1 of this year, only 52.3 % of the subscribers of Azersu were provided with water meters.
According to the JSC Azersu, at the beginning of this month 631.1 thsd of the 1 mln 181.7 thousand subscribers were provided with water meters. According to the consumer group of the population (1,141,976 subscribers), the figure is 52.3 %, while for other users (businesses and public organizations, companies using water for commercial purposes, only 39,779 subscribers), this indicator is also not of 100% strength - only 85 5%. In Baku counters were provided to 63.6 % of the population and 96.3 % of other consumers.
The press-service of JSC Azersu told Turan that since last year the corporation has started installing smart meters, providing water supply prepaid. Total installed were 160,000 such meters, including 128 thousand this year. In JSC Azersu they noted that the full completion of the installation of meters depends on the progress of the reconstruction of water supply and sanitation in cities and regions. - 08D -

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
