Payment Cards Become Fewer
From the beginning of the year, for whatever reasons, 16.5% of debit payment cards were withdrawn from circulation – by November 1, their number was 663 000. The reduction also affected the credit cards (minus 14.5%) - to 1 114 000.
According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), in January-October, the number of social security cards for the payment of pensions and benefits declined slightly (-0.05%) to 2 425 000. Then an increase in the number of salary cards was registered (+2.7%) - up to 1 483 000.
Recall, the total number of payment cards by November 1 was 5 685 000 (minus 280 000 or 4.7% to 1 January). --17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
