Poultry Farmers Want Land in Return for Lower Prices
To reduce the prices of poultry products the abolition of VAT on the import of food additives, veterinary drugs and vaccines is required. However, for the sustainable development of the industry it is necessary to provide poultry farms with sown land. Such demands were made by entrepreneurs at a meeting in the Ministry of Economy.
The Chairman of the Republican Poultry Farmers Society Aydin Veliyev told Turan that today only one farm has sown areas, through which it has achieved a certain level of profitability. "The state can support poultry farms by giving them land holdings. I think 3 thousand hectares would be enough to ensure that every household is provided with forage crops," said Veliyev.
Last week the authorities temporarily introduced zero VAT on imports of wheat. Also administratively reduced was the retail price of eggs from 0.17 manat to 0.15 per egg. -----08B
