Purge in Ministry of Taxes, Sixty-Four Employees Dismissed

Heydar Aliyev International Airport witnessed a significant increase in passenger traffic in April 2024. The airport, which is a vital hub connecting Azerbaijan with the whole world, served about 570,000 passengers during the month, which is 50% more than in the same period last year, when its terminals served 379,000 passengers.

The Azerbaijani parliament has approved a law facilitating the construction of artificial land plots in the Caspian Sea. The law, adopted in the third reading on Monday, establishes the regulatory framework for such changes.

On May 7, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico met at the presidential residence in Zagulba, which became a step towards strengthening bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Slovakia. This face-to-face discussion, which later expanded to include more participants, highlighted the mutual commitment to deepening economic cooperation and stimulating the growth of bilateral trade.

The Azerbaijani-Slovak business Forum in Baku, timed to coincide with the official visit of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo, tried to lay the foundation for strengthening economic relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia. High-level participants, including the Ministers of Economy of both nations, Mikail Jabbarov of Azerbaijan and Denisa Sakova of Slovakia, underscored the growing ties and mutual commitment to deeper economic integration.
