Since the beginning of the year, cement production increased by 40%
For five months of this year Azerbaijan produced about 1.1 million tons of cement, which is 40% more than in the same period in 2013.
Growth of local production through activation of new entrants has also influenced the dynamics of imports.
Some manufacturers have their own cement concrete plants, and their production is reflected in the structure of concrete masonry. In 2014-2015 import dependence will decrease to 20%. In 2013, when production volume was 2 040 000 tones of clinker and Portland cement, imports amounted to about 2.6 million tons.
Annual production capacity of three local cement producers in 2015 will be at least 4.5 million tons. In addition there are about 10 small industrial enterprises.
According to the Ministry of Taxes, the largest cement plant in Azerbaijan in the number of employees is LLC Qazakh Cement Zavodu - more than 550 people.
