SOCAR: In 2015 Azerbaijan held new record of tank gas extraction
In 2015 Azerbaijan increased tanks gas extraction, Rakhman Gurbanov, told SOCAR Vice President for Oil & Gas Extraction and Transportation.
He added that this year tank gas extraction has reached 18.9 billion cub.m., about 0.2 billion cub.m. more than last year.
SOCAR Vice President said that extraction of natural gas from the Shah Deniz field and associated gas from the bloc of fields Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) has increased. “In 2015 9.9 billion cub.m. of tank gas has been extracted from the Shah Deniz field. Total volume of gas extraction in Azerbaijan has reached 29.4 billion cub.m.”
Tamam Bayatly, chief of BP-Azerbaijan company’s Public Relations Department, said at the end of December 2015 that despite three-week break in August due to the preventive works, the volume of extraction on the Shah Deniz Phase 1 is expected to grow.
She said that at present about 29 million cub.m of gas a day is extracted on the field. “During 11 months, 2015 Azerbaijan has exported 6 billion cub.m. of gas from the Shah Deniz Phase 1. This is up 1.6% against the same period last year. In 2014 total volume of gas export from the field totaled 6.5 billion cub.m. These figures give the reason to claim that in 2015 extraction from the Shah Deniz Phase 1 will exceed the indexes of 2014. In 2014 gas extraction from the Shah Deniz Phase 1 totaled 9.8 billion cub.m.”—0—
