SOCAR plans to extract over 500,000 tons of oil and 1 mcm of gas a year from new platform
Launching of the new platform No 7 on the shallow section of the Guneshli field will contribute to stabilization of oil production on this field, Rovnag Abdullayev, President of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) told journalists.
“We are planning to build another platform on the Guneshli field and its design will start in the near future,” Abdullayev added.
SOCAR President also said that 1 mcm of gas and 1400 tons of oil a day will be extracted from the platform No 7.
“For the first time horizontal wells will be drilled on the Guneshli field from the platform No 7,” SOCAR President said.
The platform has been installed on the sea depth of 148 meters. It is designed for drilling of 20 operation wells, of which 6 ones gas and 14 ones are oil wells. The production rate of gas wells is expected to be 150,000 cub.m. of gas and 15 tons of condensate and oil wells – 100 tons of oil and 15,000 cub.m. of associated gas.
The wells will be drilled using two modern drilling rigs ZJ 70/4500 DZ (China) and Bentec 3000 HP AC (Germany). The second drilling rig gas wider possibilities and allows drilling wells 8,000-9,000 meters deep.
The costs for the new platform construction totaled 180,827,900 AZN.—0—
