State purchases 3,100 units of hearing aids
The Prosthetic Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Centre (PORC) under the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of the Population on November 17 signed a contract with «Avaz Group» LLC to purchase 3,100 hearing aids for patients with 2-4 degrees of hearing loss. One hearing aid will cost the state an average of AZN 413 ($243).
According to the state procurement register https://etender.gov.az/main/competition/detail/295407, «Avaz Group» LLC was selected as the winner of the tender. The parties signed a contract worth AZN 1 million 280.300 with the condition of performance until 1 September 2024.
In September 2022, a contract was signed between these parties for the purchase of these machines as part of 2.000 units https://etender.gov.az/main/competition/detail/273965 for a total amount of AZN 865.800 or AZN 433.9 per unit. In 2020, strangely enough, the tender revealed the same company as the winner. The parties signed a contract worth AZN 1 million 61.400. In September 2018, the PORC awarded a contract to «Avaz Group» LLC for AZN 553.200 on a similar subject, without disclosing the number of units to be purchased.
According to the State Customs Committee, for 9 months of this year, Azerbaijan purchased 6,041 pieces of hearing aid abroad with a total declared value of $ 932.500, or an average of $90.8 per piece. During the same period of 2022, 3,817 hearing aids were imported at an average price of $118.3 per 1 piece. It should be noted that hearing aids are imported not only by the state, but also by private companies for retail sale.-
