Tariffs for State Examination of Medicines, Medicinal Substances Sharply Increased
Baku/01.02.21/Turan: The Tariff (Price) Council under the leadership of the Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov on January 30 increased the tariffs for the examination of medicines and medicinal substances, which, even without this decision, brought huge profits for the Center for Analytical Expertise (a legal entity of public law) of the Ministry of Health.
According to the decision of the Customs Union, from February 1, the tariff for preliminary examination for the purpose of state registration, re-registration and registration of changes in registration documents of medicines and medicinal substances (pharmaceutical substances) has been increased from 140 to 200 manats per unit. Their specialized expertise for state registration of original medicines, as well as the expertise of new combinations of registered medicines will cost 2,600 manats instead of 1,100 manats.
The tariff for specialized expertise for the purpose of re-registration of medicines has been increased from 550 to 1,300 manats. Tariffs for other services of the Center for Analytical Expertise have also been revised.
"Additional funds generated as a result of the tariff change will be used to create additional jobs for the examination of medicines and the introduction of new services in a shorter time frame, to strengthen the social protection of employees, to purchase additional equipment," the Tariff Council said.
At the end of 2019, the Center for Analytical Expertise (CAE) gained net profit in the amount of 895 thousand manats. This is 50% more than in 2018 and 3 times more than in 2017. Operating income (over 5.1 million manats) of the CAE for 2019 increased by 24.3%. During the year 1 million 163 thousand manats were used for the purchase of equipment and intangible assets. 2 million 271 thousand manats were allocated to pay wages to employees, and 507.2 thousand manats were transferred to the State Social Protection Fund.
