Tender invited for Sumgait carbamide plant
SOCAR has invited tender for selection of the consultant to manage construction of the carbamide plant in Sumgait city.
The consultant will be in charge of analysis, evaluation and submitting a report about all the documents and plans prepared by the contractors, licensors and suppliers.
The consultant will manage general project risks and take measures to reduce them and perform inspection during and after the assembly.
The companies with 10-year-old international experience of performing such works, especially in the Near East and former USSR countries, with required technical and material possibilities and experienced staff can take part in the bids.
The tender proposals accompanied with the bank guarantee worth 2% of the proposal cost are accepted till May 15, 2014. The tender procedure will take place on May 16, 2014.
The main project works started in September 2013, construction started on February 2014 and it will be completed in 2016.
The capacity of the plant running on the natural gas will be 1200 tons of ammonia a day and 2000 tons of carbamide a day.
The contract on design, purchase-sale and construction of the plant on a turn-key basis was signed with South Korean Samsung Engineering. The cost of the project is 500 million Euro without taxes. The construction should be completed within 33 months and 2-3 extra months will be needed to run the tests. The project will be funded from the state budget of Azerbaijan.-0—‘

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
