The corporate segment of the securities market increased by 65%
In the first quarter of 2013 the volume of the primary and secondary markets, corporate bonds amounted to 146.3 million manat. This is 65% more than in the same period of 2012. The market grew mainly due to the placement of shares of financial companies, informal market shares and bonds of financial institutions.
According to the report of the State Committee for Securities in the first quarter of this year, the volume of placement was 45 million manat (2.7 times), public and private placement of bonds - 29.5 mln (+34%). Secondary turnover of shares on the informal market (44.3 million manat) exceeded the rate of exchange B15 times.
In comparison with the first quarter of 2012 over the counter market share increased 77%.
The secondary market for corporate bonds for the period (24.5 million manat) remained approximately at the level of the previous year. The bulk of transactions in bonds accounted for by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Mortgage Fund.
Overall market volume share amounted to 92.2 million manat (2.2 times), corporate bonds - 54 mln (+17%).
In the first quarter of this year in the corporate market were made about 1000 transactions on purchase and sale of securities. This is 4% less than in the comparable period of 2012. The main part deals on transactions with shares. In this case, the Baku Stock Exchange made 805 trades over the counter - 209 deals.
The Government of Azerbaijan in the State program of development of the securities market in 2011-2020 and the Concept of "Azerbaijan 2012: A look at the future" has set a target to limit the unorganized market of securities to a minimum. However, meanwhile this opaque market is going through a heyday stage. - 08B-
