The government hides predictions for 2014
This year, the Government of Azerbaijan for the first time in many years has hidden from the public key forward-looking indicators of the state budget and the concept of economic and social development for 2014. Experts tend to explain this with the political background of the presidential election.
As you know, on September 20 the Cabinet decided to appeal to the President of the collection of documents that are included in the budget package. However, there is still no information about the parameters of the projected state budget and the main macroeconomic indicators. A member of the NGO coalition "National Budget Group," the chairman of the public association "Assistance to Economic Initiatives" Azer Mehdiyev believes that, probably, the government plans to raise the "bar" of the state budget for next year, or, on the contrary, the indicators worsen.
For comparison, the Armenian government announced the projected budget and macroeconomic performance in 2014 on the same day they are approved - 28 September.
According to the Law of Azerbaijan Republic "On budget system," the draft of the state budget is to be available to the legislature no later than October 15.
The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers refused to disclose Turan predicted data.
Revenues in the state budget of Azerbaijan for 2013 were approved at the level of 19 billion 159 million manat, while expenses were 19 billion 850 million manats. These indicators were approved for the previous year at 17 billion 038 million and 17 billion 672 million manats respectively. In 2012, the real income of the state budget amounted to 17 281.5 million and the expenses - 17 416.4 mln. - 08B -
