The volume of production of construction materials rose by 42.4%
In the first quarter of this year, Azerbaijan produced building materials for a total of 70.5 million manat. This is 42.4% more than in the comparable period of 2012. The prices of building materials for the period grew by an average of 4.2%, the State Statistics Committee told Turan.
The output of cement was 427.7 thousand tons (+35.6%), ready-mixed concrete - 281.2 thousand tons (+14.8%), pre-cast concrete structures - 8.6 million cubic meters (16, 2%). Brick production (69.6 million m3) has increased by 71%. From the quarries were delivered to construction sites 105 thousand tons of limestone. In addition, it delivers more than 50 tons of plaster (3.9 times). During the reporting period, production of construction glass (145.6 thousand square meters) decreased compared to the first quarter of 2012 by 56.8%.
It should be noted that the volume of investments in the construction sector this year has increased 36%.
The building materials sector in Azerbaijan is subject to risks unrecorded economy. Therefore, according to experts, the volume of production in this sector is much more than the official statistics. - 08D -

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
