Turnover of the national payment system in the first 11 months reached 115 billion manats
BAKU/22.01.14/TURAN : Credit organizations of Azerbaijan met in November 2013 2,359,000 payment orders totaling 10,322 million manat. As the number of payments grew by 46 thousand (2 %), their total turnover decreased compared to the previous month at 318 million ( 3.1%).
Compared with the corresponding period last year, the number of payments in January-November increased by 861,000 or 3.6 % to 24,476,000 , and their volume increased by 10,549 million or 10.1% to 115.321 billion manat.
In the structure of payments turnover in January-November, the share of large and urgent payments was 1.86 % ( 456,000 ) of the total number and 88.4 % ( 101,961 million manat) of their total volume. The average size of this category of payments decreased compared to November 2012 by 5.7 %, amounting to 190,000 manat, and the average size and small retail payments increased by 24.5 % to 552.5 manat. - 15B -

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
