The IEA expects an increase in oil production in Azerbaijan in 2024
Baku/21.07.23//Turan: The International Energy Agency (IEA) expects that oil production in Azerbaijan in 2023 will amount to 0.64 million barrels per day.
The forecast was slightly revised downward by 0.1 million barrels per day compared to previous estimates.
Thus, the country's oil production in the first and second quarters of 2023 is estimated to be 0.64 million barrels per day and 0.62 million barrels per day, respectively. The agency expects that oil production in Azerbaijan in the third quarter of this year will amount to 0.64 million barrels per day, and in the fourth quarter - 0.65 million barrels per day.
According to forecasts, oil production in the country in the first quarter of 2024 will grow to 0.67 million barrels per day, and in general in 2024 it will increase to 0.68 million barrels per day.
According to the IEA, oil production in Azerbaijan in 2022 is estimated at 0.67 million barrels per day.
In 2022, oil production in Azerbaijan decreased to 32.6 million metric tons (including condensate). Oil exports amounted to more than 26 million metric tons, which is 4 percent, or about 1.09 million metric tons, less than in 2021.
In general, the plan for this year is to produce 33.4 million metric tons of oil in Azerbaijan. However, according to the results of the first half of this year, only 15.2 million tons of oil and condensate were produced in Azerbaijan. --0-
