Azerbaijani banks buy more than $7 billion of foreign currency at auctions this year

Azerbaijani banks have bought currency worth $7,169.1 million at auctions held jointly by the Central Bank and the State Oil Fund in 2024.This was reported by the Central Bank. According to the data, this is up by 84.9% from 2023. In December alone, the purchase of foreign currency by banks totalled $565.2 million, which is down by 6.4% from a year ago.
