Central Bank raised the discount rate by 0.25%
Baku/17.09.21/Turan: The Board of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan made a decision on Friday to increase the discount rate from 6.25% to 6.5%. The message of the Central Bank noted that the lower threshold of the corridor increases from 5.75% to 6%, the upper threshold from 6.75% to 7%.
The Central Bank noted that this decision was made with consideration of the intensifying inflationary processes in the global economy, the intensification of the processes of rising prices for food and raw materials, the cost of transport and logistics.
In addition, it was noted that when making the decision, the impact of the liberalization of regulated prices and tariffs was also taken into account.
Recall that in 2021, in five previous meetings, the Board of the Central Bank did not change the discount rate. –71D-
