Last year the CBA sold more than 2,500 jubilee, commemorative and investment banknotes
In 2023, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan sold 2,530 jubilee, commemorative and investment monetary signs. This is stated in the organization's management report on the results of the last year.
According to the document, the sale of jubilee and commemorative banknotes was carried out through "Azersuvenir" company owned by the Presidential Affairs Department, and the sale of investment banknotes through agent banks.
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of former President Heydar Aliyev last year, the CBA issued 1 troy ounce (31.1 g) of high quality local gold for the first time in the country's history. As well as 1/2 troy ounce (15.55 g), 1/4 troy ounce (7.78 g) and 1/10 troy ounce (3.11 g), besides 10 troy ounces (311 g), 5 troy ounces. Jubilee coins weighing 155.5 g and 1 troy ounce (31.1 g) were introduced into circulation. These commemorative coins are intended for special state occasions.
