A photo exhibition dedicated to the memory of the martyrs on January 20 opened in Istanbul
Baku/20.01.19/Turan: A photo exhibition on the events of January 20, 1990, when the Soviet army entered Baku and killed civilians, opened in Istanbul at the Yenikapi station of the Marmaray submarine railway, which connects the Asian and European continents.
The exhibition is organized by the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Istanbul with the official permission of the governor of Istanbul.
Opening it, Consul General of Azerbaijan Masim Hajiyev expressed confidence that the presented materials will allow the Turkish public to get more information about the tragedy of January 20. He also noted that today the Azerbaijani people should more focus on such concepts as "freedom" and "independent state".
Azerbaijani students, studying in Turkey, acted as voluntary guides to the exhibition, informing visitors about the massacre committed by the Soviet army in those tragic days.
It should be noted that the Yenikapı station connects the European and Asian continents by an undersea railway, which transports daily about 500,000 people. -0-
