A rally in support of the war in Ukraine was held in Yerevan
Yerevan/19.03.22/RIA Novosti: Yerevan hosted an action in support of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.
The participants gathered in the center of the capital and headed to the Russian Embassy. They had flags in their hands Armenia and Russia, victory banner, posters with the letters Z and V.
"We are supporters of freedom, self-determination, Armenian-Russian friendship. Today, our ally is waging a civilizational struggle. This is a civilizational conflict. Defending Russia, we protect our identity, traditions, our traditional families, the church," said one of the organizers of the action, the leader of the movement "Strong Armenia with Russia. For the new Union" Hayk Babukhanyan.
Member of the executive committee of the movement "Strong Armenia with Russia. For a New Union" Vahram Mkrtchyan noted that the goal of the organization, established in February last year, is closer and comprehensive integration with Russia - up to the format of the union state.
"A few days ago we were in the regions. Many community leaders, members of village councils and the population of villages suggested putting this issue to a referendum as soon as possible," he stressed.
Mkrtchyan warned supporters of the European course that in case of weakening of the Russian positions, the influence will grow Turkey is the "conductor of NATO's interests."
