Duda and Nausėda meet with Zelenskyy in Lviv to sign agreement on mutual cooperation
"I thank Zelenskyy and Nausėda for the meeting – we were talking in the Lublin Triangle format, which has already become a tradition. The previous meeting took place a few hours before the full-scale war began," Poland’s Duda wrote.
At the meeting, the three presidents signed the Joint Declaration of the Lublin Triangle – the name of the grouping of three countries.
"We support, have supported and will support Ukraine, in particular politically. We fight for Ukraine to become a full member of the EU. I stressed the determination of the Ukrainian people to integrate with the EU," Duda said.
The Joint Declaration says the following:
Poland's and Lithuania's express their intention to continue mighty military, technical, defense, humanitarian and other support of Ukraine is declared;
It supports a global summit on peace in order to consolidate international support for the peace formula presented by Zelenskyy;
It expresses intention to create a special international tribunal on the crime of aggression by Russia against Ukraine;
It expresses Poland and Lithuania’s intentions to assist Ukraine in its integration with the EU and NATO as soon as possible.
Zelenskyy also commented on the meeting on Telegram:
"The Second Summit of the Lublin Triangle. Productive negotiations. And adoption of important decisions,” Zelenskyy said.
“We prove by real deeds how important cooperation between our countries is not only for the eastern flank of Europe, but also for our entire Euro-Atlantic coalition of states.”
Zelenskyy’s visit to Lviv on Jan. 11 also featured a coordination meeting on the protection of the state border and on the current security situation in the northwestern regions of Ukraine.
