Husband and wife in Armenia accused of spying for Azerbaijan
Baku/06.04.21/Turan: The National Security Service of Armenia has completed the preliminary investigation of the criminal case on the fact of high treason. The citizen of Armenia, whose name is not disclosed, has repeatedly visited Turkey, where he was recruited by the Azerbaijani intelligence, press center of the NSS reported.
The accused periodically transmitted information about the Armenian army, military equipment, representing state and military secrets to the Azerbaijani intelligence service. For this, he received $1,500.
This citizen was brought in as an accused; he is not allowed to leave. His wife is is charged with complicity in high treason. During the interrogation, they made confessions, the report says.
It is noteworthy that on such a grave charge as high treason, such a mild measure of restraint was chosen as “a written not to leave”.
Earlier, Armenian media reported that during the Second Karabakh War, at least two Armenian soldiers were arrested on charges of espionage for Azerbaijan. One of them was a former officer of the Armenian Defense Ministry. -02D-
