Islamists freed Turkish diplomats in Iraq
Employees of the Turkish Consulate taken hostage in the Iraqi city of Mosul on June 11, were released on June 12, Turkish media reported; 49 consular employees and members of their families were captured by militants of the radical movement Sham Islam, who took control of the city of Mosul.
The hostages were taken to an unknown destination, and then began talks between the Turkish authorities and the militants. The agreement to release the hostages was reached on June 12 at noon, and in the evening the hostages should be sent home. Nothing is reported on the terms for the release.-05D-
