Jews, opponents of the war in Gaza, burst into the Capitol
israelinfo: Hundreds of American Jews took part in a protest on the National Mall outside the US Congress Building on Wednesday to demand an end to the attacks on the Gaza Strip. Then a group of protesters staged a sit-in at the Congress building. The protesters marched with placards "Not on our behalf!", "Jews say cease fire now" and "Zionism is racism".
According to American sources, more than 400 American Jews and 25 rabbis took part in the rally, who opposed the "Israeli occupation" and demanded that Congress adopt a resolution on a cease-fire. They were chanting: "Let Gaza live!", "Stop the genocide of the Palestinians" and "Stop Israeli apartheid". These are representatives of the same anti-Zionist community “Neturei Karta”, which has already held demonstrations with Palestinian flags in Mea Shearim.
Some representatives of the US Congress, including Rashida Tlaib, a representative of the Democratic Party of Palestinian origin, took part in an open sit-in in the rotunda of the Congress building.
During her speech, Tlaib addressed the US President: "President Biden, we are not with you on this issue. You need to wake up and realize that we can no longer just watch people commit mass murder, we can't be silent spectators."
