Lavrov spoke about the secret attempts of the West to establish contact with Russia
РБК: Moscow has received non-public signals from one of the Western leaders three times in six months about the need for a meeting on Ukraine. According to Lavrov, such proposals come despite the promises of the West not to discuss these issues without Kiev
High-ranking representatives of Western countries are not publicly trying to establish contacts with Moscow on Ukraine, despite the voiced promises not to discuss the conflict without the presence of Kiev. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
"I have no right to name names, but a number of high, very well-known leaders of Western countries, including one particular leader of a very well-known Western country, sent signals several times through different channels, saying, why don't we meet and talk about what to do with Ukraine and the European security," the minister said (quoted by TASS).
Lavrov added that the politician tried three times to send appropriate signals through three different channels, despite the fact that he has direct access to a "colleague in Moscow." "These are the tricks," he concluded.
According to the Russian Foreign Minister, Moscow is ready for dialogue with countries interested in putting an end to attempts to build their own security at the expense of the security of others.
