Telman Ismailov wants to prove that he is bankrupt
Russia's Supreme Court took an appeal against a prominent businessman of Azeri origin Telman Ismailov. Ismayilov demands to cancel the decision of the lower courts, it abolished the decision on bankruptcy. In December 2015 the Arbitration Court of Moscow declared Ismailova banktupt, and launched the procedure for sale of his property. However, the Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeal in March reversed the decision. After the cancellation of the decision on bankruptcy of Ismailov, the Arbitration of the Moscow region began consideration of applications by creditors, the largest of which is the Bank of Moscow.
In 2009 Telman Ismailov, who controls a group of companies AST and was included in the rating of the richest businessmen of Russia, faced with large-scale claims by law enforcement agencies on the activities of its main asset - the Cherkizovsky market in Moscow, the largest wholesale trade center.
After the market was closed, Ismaylov tried to promote his other important asset - a luxury hotel Mardan Palace in Antalya. However, he was unable to pay his creditors, and was deprived of the hotel. After that Ismailov has declared himself a bankrupt, to fend off other creditors. -02D-
