РБК: Yemeni Houthis attacked a Panamanian-flagged tanker carrying Russian oil, mistakenly believing it was connected to the United Kingdom, Reuters reports, citing a statement from the British security company Ambrey.
The company assumed that the ship was targeted because it was listed in a publicly available database as being associated with Britain, although this is already outdated information.
“A Panama-flagged tanker spotted three boats while traveling east along the International Recommended Transit Corridor,” the agency quoted an excerpt from the Ambrey report, adding that the ship reported a missile hit the water.
The company notes that this is the second time the Houthis have attacked a ship carrying Russian oil.
On the night of January 12, the United States and Britain, with the support of the international coalition, attacked Houthi targets in Yemen. Aviation and a nuclear submarine were used for the attack, from which Tomahawk cruise missiles were launched, Reuters wrote.
More than 60 objects were targeted: air defense systems, radars, warehouses and launch sites for drones and missiles, US Central Command reported. Saab wrote that international airports were also attacked. The Houthis reported five rebels dead and six more wounded.
The UK and the US called the actions of Western countries self-defense and a response to Houthi attacks in the Red Sea. The movement insists it only attacks Israeli ships and vessels going “to ports in the occupied territories.” The Houthis have said there is no threat to commercial shipping.
At the same time, attacks were carried out on cargo ships: for example, the movement reported attacks on container ships of the Danish Maersk. As a result, many shipping companies have sent ships around the hazardous area, increasing delivery times, fuel consumption and costs.
Russia condemned the attacks by the United States and Great Britain; the Kremlin called them illegitimate. Russia's permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya accused Washington and London of violating the UN Security Council resolution adopted on January 10.

Так им и надо. Они всегда глупо и лицемерно, ради коньюктуры защищают тех, кто потом им же гадит на голову. Так везде и всюду. Потому что горе от "ума"! Основная их проблема.
