The United States said that Russia suffered a strategic defeat in the war against Ukraine
Kiev/10.04.22/UNIAN: Russia has suffered a strategic defeat in the war against Ukraine, so the Kremlin's appointment of a new invasion commander will not have significant results.
This was announced by the US President's national security adviser Jake Sullivan, writes CNN.
"No appointment of any general can erase the fact that Russia has already suffered a strategic defeat in Ukraine. Ukraine will never be subordinated to Russia. It doesn't matter which general President Putin is trying to appoint," Sullivan said.
As UNIAN reported, Sullivan has already warned that the United States expects the new commander-in-chief General Alexander Dvornikov will carry out new brutal attacks on civilians in Ukraine.
"This particular general has a resume that includes brutality against civilians in other theaters of war, in Syria, and we can expect more of the same in this theater of operations," Sullivan said.
Putin has appointed a new commander of the war in Ukraine. He became 61-year-old army General Alexander Dvornikov, who was nicknamed the "Syrian butcher" because of the brutal tactics of the war.
