A legal assessment will be given to the actions of the detained Armenian military, Jeyhun Bayramov
Baku/30.04.21/Turan: The topic of the Armenian military captured after November 10, 2020 was one of the topics discussed during the visit of Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov.
Before his visit to Baku, the Lithuanian minister visited Yerevan, where he made rather harsh statements, demanding from Baku the unconditional release of the servicemen captured after the armistice.
These statements were noticed and dissatisfaction about this was expressed today during a joint press conference of the two ministers.
Bayramov repeated several times that some European countries show double standards, ignore the interests of Azerbaijan and support Armenia. "This is not acceptable and does not work."
Further, Bayramov said that he explained in detail to Landsbergis the situation with the captured Armenian soldiers who did not fall under the ceasefire statement on November 10.
“I explained to the Lithuanian minister the realities after the 44-day war. We are concerned about some issues, and one of them is Armenia's claims to us regarding the "prisoners of war".
I would like to emphasize once again that persons illegally sent to Azerbaijan after November 10, 2020 were rendered harmless as a result of an operation carried out by the Azerbaijani security forces. At the same time, 62 people were detained. A criminal case has been initiated against these persons, the investigation continues and their actions will be assessed in accordance with the laws of Azerbaijan,” the minister said. -02D-
