Action of journalists protest in PACE
Journalists, permanently accredited in the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on January 27 at the press conference of the PACE president, Jean-Claude Mignon, staged a protest. According to the special correspondent of Turan, they put on them signs saying "Press".
According to the interview of Kayhan Garaja with Turan correspondent, human rights, democracy, rule of law, freedom of the media are the values of the Council of Europe.
However, according to Karaja , lately the Council of Europe does not pay attention to the freedom of media. Due to the economic crisis, the CE reduced budget for media covering his work.
Karaja also stressed that room for accredited journalists were also presented thank to joint efforts of journalists. In addition , the Council of Europe, because of the crisis, restricted inviting journalists from Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union to the PACE session.--16D-
