Akif Muradverdiyev Told Lawyer They Planted Gold Coins on Him

Lawyer Fuad Agayev today visited in the MNS jail the former manager of Presidential Administration Akif Muradverdiyev arrested yesterday.

Agayev told Turan Muradverdiyev is innocent and told the lawyer the circumstances of his detention.

In particular, Muradverdiyev was about to depart for Moscow on June 20 morning.

He passed control of the airport security, customs and border control. When he was boarding the plane through the "accordion," a man in civilian clothes approached him and politely asked him to come for "just a case" with him.

Muradverdiyev was led to one room, but at the entrance, he was asked to hand over his bag.

Then he was invited into the room and they began to talk to him.

Then they brought the bag into the room and asked Muradverdiyev what was in it, and he said there was about 1,400 dollars, 900 manat, credit card bank  and clothing. Then, they opened the bag and pulled out a bag of gold coins.

"It is clear that the gold coins were thrown into the bag. Otherwise, they would find the coins when passing through checkpoints, which conducted a thorough inspection to identify metallic substances," said Agayev. -06C--
