Baku / 20.08.20 / Turan: Former assistant to the President of Azerbaijan on ideology Ali Hasanov was hospitalized in Turkey, several online publications reported this today. Hasanov himself said that he will have a third heart operation and valve replacement. The doctors will make a decision after the tests are completed in three days.
He had already undergone two heart surgeries earlier, but in the last week his health worsened again.
Ali Hasanov is known for his extremely negative image and as the author of many initiatives to suppress freedom of speech and expression in Azerbaijan. On January 13, the trial in the case of public activist Nijat Ibrahim continued in the Baku Serious Crimes Court under the chairmanship of Judge Aygun Gurbanova. The International Committee of Concerned Scholars (ICS) has appealed to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, requesting his assistance in securing the release of the arrested researcher, Igbal Abilov.
