Ali Insanov was arrested in custody
Today the Garadag District Court on the proposal of the District Prosecutor's Office decided to arrest for three months the former Health Minister Ali Insanov, said his lawyer Togrul Babayev. This decision is connected with the new charges against Insanov on distributing drugs and resisting the authorities. Insanov called the charges fraud for the purpose of not letting him from jail.
"This is an outright defamation, and 9 days before the completion of 11-year sentence, to prevent my release," quoted Insanov's lawyer.
Insanov who is kept in the Kurdakhani jail refused to participate in the court trial today. The lawyer intends to file an appeal against the arrest warrant.
The charges against Insanov who is kept in jail N13; he can be imprisoned for another 5-7 years of imprisonment.
Insanov was arrested in October 2005 on charges of attempting a coup. However, later the authorities about this for some reason forgot about it , and sentenced Insanov to 11 years for economic crimes.
Despite the European Court of Human Rights found a violation of the rights of Insanov, the Azerbaijani authorities have left the sentence unchanged.
During the trial, Insanov harshly criticized Azerbaijani authorities and personally President Ilham Aliyev.
Human rights organizations have recognized Insanov a political prisoner. -06В-

According to a report by Turan correspondent, the discussions took place behind closed doors and lasted for over an hour. No statements were made to the press following the meeting.
