Aliyev and Pashinyan agreed to meet in Brussels - EU
Baku/19.11.21/Turan: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, after telephone talks with the head of the European Council Charles Michel, agreed to hold a meeting in Brussels on December 15 within the framework of the EU-Eastern Partnership summit, the EU said in a statement on November 19.
"The head of the European Council Charles Michel proposed to hold a meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Brussels during the EU-Eastern Partnership summit.
The leaders agreed to hold a meeting in Brussels to discuss the regional situation and ways to overcome tensions. During the phone calls, the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders have also agreed to establish a direct communication line, at the level of respective Ministers of Defence, to serve as an incident prevention mechanism.
