Aliyev arrives at SCO summit
Baku/15.09.22/Turan: President Ilham Aliyev arrived in the Uzbek city of Samarkand on September 15 to participate in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Within the framework of the summit, Aliyev will hold a number of bilateral meetings. The main topic of the meetings with Russian President Putin will be the situation on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border, the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov said.
According to him, the meeting will take place on September 16. Before that, Putin talked with Prime Minister Pashinyan.
*The SCO was founded in 2001. The members of the organization are: India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan.
Azerbaijan and Turkey are "dialogue partners".
The main tasks of the SCO are proclaimed to strengthen stability and security in the space of the participating states, the fight against terrorism, separatism, extremism[8], drug trafficking; the development of economic cooperation, energy partnership, scientific and cultural interaction. -02D-
