Aliyev called for political consultations in the Baku-Yerevan-Tbilisi format
Baku/24.10.22/Turan: Azerbaijan supports intensifying trilateral political consultations between Baku, Yerevan and Tbilisi, the head of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev stated today in Tbilisi. “Today we also have the opportunity to hold consultations between Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia. If Armenia is ready, we will be ready to start this format today,” Aliyev said at a press conference following a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
According to him, signing a peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan is a guarantee of peace in the entire South Caucasus and a window for new opportunities for cooperation.
“A new situation has formed after the Karabakh war. For a final decision, it is necessary to sign a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We have already shared five basic principles with Armenia, and we hope that Armenia will show political will, start peace negotiations and sign a peace agreement with Azerbaijan,” Novosti-Georgia quoted Aliyev as saying.
Aliyev arrived in Tbilisi on a working visit, during which he visited the exhibition "The Heritage of the Karabakh Khanate" at the residence of the Bagration-Mukhransky princes in the Mtskheta region. --02D--
