Alliance Azerbaijan without Political Prisoners condemned recent repressions against activists
The Alliance Azerbaijan without Political Prisoners made a statement in which it strongly condemned the verdict against the journalist Parviz Hashimli deprived of liberty for a term of 8 years.
The statement also condemned the arrests of journalist and human rights activist Rauf Mirkadirov and Emil Mammadli, as well as pressure on the director of the Institute for Peace and Democracy Leyla Yunus.
In addition, the Alliance condemned authorities for sentence of 8 members of the NIDA movement, as well as the arrest of activists protesting this sentence.
The Alliance urged the authorities to cease the repression of journalists and civil society activists and to release all those arrested for political reasons. -03D06 -
