Baku/22.12.20/Turan: Director of the National Anti-Doping Agency of Azerbaijan (AMADA) Shafag Huseynli held a press conference on the results of 2020 in this area on December 22. According to him, the specialized republican sports federations announced the cancellation of the results of 12 athletes in six sports who violated the anti-doping rules, and the recall of medals.
A total of 24 anti-doping law violations were investigated in 2020. “The decisions on 11 of these cases have entered into force, and 13 cases have not yet been considered. Twenty four anti-doping violations were recorded in 11 sports. In boxing - 4 violations, 3 - in weightlifting, judo, taekwondo and karate, 2 - in cycling and wrestling, 1 each - in football, sambo, track and field athletics and judo,” he said.
Huseynli said the new anti-doping rules reflect the obligations and responsibilities of AMADA, sports federations and athletes. Huseynli noted that if members of the federation commit more than six anti-doping violations at the national level or more than three at the international level within 12 months, then the federation might be disqualified for up to a year.
AMADA was established in 2016 and conducts doping control in the field of sports in Azerbaijan. -0-
