Amendments to law on religion recommended for second reading in parliament
Baku/10.02.22/Turan: At today's meeting, the Parliamentary Committee on Public Associations and Religious Structures approved the proposed changes to the law on freedom of religion and recommended them for consideration by the Milli Majlis in the second reading.
Parliament adopted the amendments in the first reading.
One of the fundamental innovations is the deprivation of the Caucasian Muslims Office of the authority to submit submissions to the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations on the registration of Muslim communities.
Now the State Committee will independently resolve this issue of registration and inform the CMC about it.—05B06-
