Another "agent" of Azerbaijan arrested in Armenia
Baku/25.04.22/ Turan: On Monday, the National Security Service of Armenia announced the arrest of the captain of the Armenian Armed Forces for spying for Azerbaijan.
The agency reported that the officer was recruited by the secret services of Azerbaijan and gave a written consent to cooperation. He received a code name and $1,400 for information about fellow students with whom he studied at a military academy in Russia and about the commanding staff of his unit.
According to the Armenian media, the arrested person, whose name was not disclosed, had access to classified materials and for several years passed to Azerbaijan information about the acquired weapons, the deployment of troops, the data of military personnel and the coordinates of equipment during the war.
The officer was arrested when he was supposed to hand over some cards to the Azerbaijani side for 8 thousand dollars.
It should be noted that after the end of the Second Karabakh War, the National Security Service of Armenia reported about the arrest of about three dozen Azerbaijani agents. Most of them are military personnel, including unit commanders, former officers of the General Staff, as well as civilians. -02D-
