Arif Hajily`s son is accused of two Articles of the Criminal Code
Baku/01.11.23/Turan: A lawsuit has been filed against Orhan Hajily, the son of the head of the "Musavat" party Arif Hajily, under two Articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, the head of the press service of the party, Mustafa Hajibeyli said.
In particular, he is charged with the acts provided for in Article 263.1 (violation of traffic rules, resulting in negligent infliction of less serious harm to health) and Article 264 (Leaving the scene of a traffic accident) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
"This is an absolutely political process. The accident was committed by another person. In fact, the victim is Orkhan himself, since he himself was injured. In order to put pressure on Arif Hajily and the "Musavat" party, the authorities are fabricating a case," Hajibeyli said.
As it became known to Turan, today the court will choose a measure of restraint against Orhan Hajily.
Under these Articles of the Criminal Code, O. Hajily faces up to 2 years in prison. The Interior Ministry could not be reached for comment.
On October 31, O. Hajily was detained as a suspect due to a car accident that occurred on October 11. On October 20, a video of the accident was distributed on social networks with a "leak" that the accident was committed by the son of the head of "Musavat."
The 25-second video shows how a dark-colored car collides with a white car that violates traffic rules. As a result, a dark car flies off and crashes into a parked car.
