Armenia Must Recognize Territorial Integrity of Azerbaijan, Withdraw Occupation Troops - Ilham Aliyev
Baku /04.10.20 / Turan: In the course of today's battles, along with the city of Jabrayil, 9 villages of this region were also liberated - Karhulu, Shukurbeyli, Yukhary Maralyan, Chereken, Dashkesan, Horovlu, Mahmudlu, Jafarabad and Dejal.
This was announced by President Ilham Aliyev in his address to the people.
The day before, five villages of the Jabrayil region were liberated - Mehdili, Chakhyrly, Ashagi Maralyan, Shaybei and Guijag, and on September 27, Boyuk Marjanli and Nyuzgar were also liberated.
Thus, since the beginning of hostilities, the Jabrayil regional center and 16 villages of the region have been liberated.
Aliyev noted that for a long time Azerbaijan was committed to a peaceful settlement and supported a stage-by-stage solution to the conflict on the basis of international law. However, the Armenian leadership shied away from negotiations, and Pashinyan put forward unacceptable conditions.
“And now he falls to his knees and begs everyone to restore the ceasefire… For two years, at the request of the Armenian Prime Minister, we did nothing. Pashinyan asked me to give him time to sort out his internal problems. He said that he came with new ideas and intends to cross out the negative aspects of the past. He asked to give him time. I gave him time. But a year later he declared that Karabakh is Armenia. Let him now say that Karabakh is Armenia; I will look how he says it,” Aliyev said.
According to him now, he receives many calls (from the heads of international organizations and foreign states) with requests for a ceasefire, asking about the conditions of Azerbaijan.
“I have one condition - the armed forces of Armenia must leave our territories — not in words, but in deeds,” Aliyev said.
According to him, the Armenian leadership must recognize the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and declare its readiness to withdraw troops from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, and this corresponds to the basic principles of the conflict settlement.
“Let him (Pashinyan) apologize to the Azerbaijani people. Let him say that Karabakh is not Armenia. And finally, let him provide an exact schedule for the withdrawal of troops,” Aliyev said.
Only on these conditions can Azerbaijan restore the ceasefire. Otherwise, Armenia will use the ceasefire regime to accumulate forces and arrange new attacks on Azerbaijan.
Aliyev criticized the position of several foreign states and international organizations, which for years fed Azerbaijan with promises and did not exert any influence on the aggressor. Now, when Azerbaijan itself began to solve the problem of restoring its territorial integrity, they fussed in advance and began to insist on the cessation of hostilities.
“Today, the release of Jabrayil should be a lesson to both Armenia and its patrons. We taught them a real lesson. We are now living the most glorious time. We are restoring justice and our territorial integrity. We justify the hopes of the Azerbaijani people and we will continue to justify them. We are right and therefore we will win,” Aliyev said. -06D-
