Armenian parliament rejects draft statement mentioning Karabakh's right to self-determination
Baku/02.12.22/Turan: On Friday, the National Assembly of Armenia did not accept the statement proposed by the opposition addressed to the Parliament of Azerbaijan, Armenian media reported.
The project, initiated by the "Hayastan" faction, was supported by 29 deputies out of 97 present. The rest abstained.
The vote was preceded by a three-hour discussion, during which the authorities and the opposition launched a heated discussion about the negotiation process and the actions of the country's leadership.
Deputies from the ruling faction criticized such wordings in the text as "Nagorno-Karabakh Republic", "Republic of Artsakh", "Nagorno-Karabakh's right to self-determination cannot be limited", "Armenia is obliged to protect the rights of Armenians in Artsakh", etc. ---02D---
