Armenian Terrorist Groups Remain in Liberated Karabakh

Baku / 01.12.20 / Turan: On December 1, the Armenian armed forces left the Lachin region, having previously left the Kalbajar and Aghdam regions of Azerbaijan. Thus, Armenia formally fulfilled the conditions of the trilateral declaration of November 10. However, separate armed detachments of Armenians remained on the territory of Azerbaijan. Armenians report this in social networks and private correspondence.

At the stage of the withdrawal of the Armenian Armed Forces from Azerbaijan in Yerevan, it was reported that along with the Armenian population leaving Karabakh, Armenian military units were moving in the opposite direction. There were reports of armed groups from the ARF Dashnaktsutyun declaring their disobedience to the surrender of Yerevan.

Last week, Armenian civic activist Lika Zakaryan posted on her FB page a detailed report on combat units in the Hadrut region liberated by the Azerbaijani army.

Together with a videographer, she visited these places, convinced of the existence of an armed group. The text is illustrated with a photograph and a video. L. Zakaryan writes:

“… We are talking about the villages of Khtsaberd (Խծաբերդ) and Khin Taher (ՀինԹաղեր). Moreover, Mount Dizapayt, Kataro Monastery ... are also under their control. A piece of the big Hadrut is in our hands and the gallant guys are still standing there and defending these places. On three sides they are surrounded by Azerbaijani troops, and only one road leads to the "world".

About the location of the village: Khtsaberd is located in the Hadrut region, but there is a road there through Lysogorsk-Kirsavan. “The road” is too loud, but still. Being at this place, the group prevented the enemy from advancing towards Lysogorsk, and from there to Shushi. They also occupied strategic heights around the village of Khtsaberd.

There is one BUT. What will happen to these territories when the entire Lachin region is given to the Azerbaijanis? If I understand everything correctly, this road (through Lysogorsk) will be inaccessible, and they will remain in the enclave...

The commanders of these groups are Hayk Khanumyan, Gary Abrahamyan, and Angel Galstyan. On November 19th, in the Kataro monastery, which is located on the top of Mount Dizapayt, Gary Abrahamyan was baptized. Hayk Khanumyan became the godfather.

These several villages and a strategic height are surrounded on three sides by ours. In these areas there are two "roads" in very poor condition. After the transfer of the Lachin region, the road through Turshsu (Lysogorsk) - Kohnekend (Kirsavan) to Chailakkala (Khtsaberd) will be under our control. Judging by some of the comments of the Armenians on the Internet, they find themselves completely surrounded. According to the Old Taglar and the height of Dizapayt, it is not clear which and where the road goes from and where ours are.

I think ours will nevertheless take action and put the issue squarely, not following the lead of the peacekeepers. In extreme cases, starve out, intimidate. I hope that the Defense Ministry is also aware of this,” writes T. Samedov and gives the exact coordinates of the location of the militants.
