Armenians Attack Azerbaijanis in Los Angeles
Baku / 22.07.20 / Turan: Hundreds of Armenians living in Los Angeles on July 21 held a protest in front of the building of the Consulate General of Azerbaijan, shouting aggressive slogans.
In turn, the Azerbaijanis who were at the Consulate General began to chant: "Karabakh is Azerbaijan!", "Stop the Armenian aggression!" and etc.
In response, Armenian demonstrators attacked Azerbaijanis, which the local police could not prevent.
As a result, 7 citizens of Azerbaijan, including a woman, were injured. A police officer who was trying to protect Azerbaijani citizens was also injured. Four of the wounded were hospitalized.
After the incident, Consul General Nasimi Pashayev contacted Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore. The latter apologized for the incident and assured that an investigation would be conducted and for this purpose an investigation team was created.
The Consulate General also appealed to the mayor and other Los Angeles officials with a demand to identify those responsible and bring them to justice. -06D-
