Arrests of Officials of Absheron Region Executive Authority
Baku / 24.06.20 / Turan: Two officials of the Absheron region executive authority were arrested on charges of taking bribes and aiding this.
According to the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office, an investigation of the illegal actions of the officials was launched in connection with citizens ’appeals to the Hotline 161 of the Office for Combating Corruption of the Prosecutor General.
During operational investigations, it was found that Akif Aliyev, head of the Architecture and Construction Department of the Absheron District Executive Power, promised citizens protection for construction work without official registration for bribes.
The mediator in the transfer of money was Murad Ahmedov, the head of the Housing Management Department N3 of the city of Khirdalan.
Aliyev is charged under Article 311.2 of the Criminal Offense Code (receiving a bribe), and Ahmedov – under Articles 32.4, 312.1 (aiding in giving a bribe), etc. In respect of both, a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen. —06D-
