Artur Rasizade - Lifetime Premier ?
78 -year-old Artur Rasizade was newly approved by the Parliament as Prime Minister of Azerbaijan. His nomination was submitted for consideration of the Milli Mejlis of Ilham Aliyev. 112 deputies voted 'for', with two "no" votes.
In connection with the start of the new term of office, the President formed a new government .
Cabinet ministers resigned on October 19 immediately after the inauguration of Aliyev.
However, the President left the members of the special order of the Government to the formation of a new Cabinet.
Note that the president appoints only the Prime Minister in consultation with Parliament, while other members of the Cabinet will be appointed by Aliyev himself.
Rasizade was the first vice -premier in the Soviet Azerbaijan - from 1986 to 1992. Then he briefly retired from the civil service.
Returning to power Heydar Aliyev returned Rasizade to the civil service, appointing him as his assistant and then deputy prime minister and later prime minister (in November 1996).
